MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS...
... are held the fourth Tuesday of most months at the United Methodist Church, 7400 Pioneer Way, near downtown Gig Harbor. Social hour at 5:30pm; business meeting at 6pm; art demo / program at 7pm. (Note: Please don't park in the "Visitor"spots in the parking lot.)
Upcoming meetings & important events:
Thru Oct. 30 -- Our 14th annual Open Juried Show is now on display at the history museum. See "Shows & Exhibits" below for photos of the winning artworks. People's Choice winner will be announced Oct. 30 -- be sure to vote for your favorite when you visit the show.
Oct. 25 -- PAL General meeting. Program will feature a sketching demo by Michaela Eaves who'll participate in the upcoming Tacoma Studio Tours. Dues for 2016-17 are now due and can be paid at the meeting or by mail.
Save the Date: Dec. 3 -- Christmas Party at Nichols Community Center on Fox Island. Bring a potluck dish and a hand-made ornament (hidden in a plain brown bag). Please RSVP Marti Green -- firstname.lastname@example.org or Michele Sleight -- email@example.com.
Monthly Featured Artists -- At every general meeting, we have a display of work by three of our members. Each Featured Artist brings a few pieces of their work and is available to chat during the social hour. This gives us a chance to get to know one another better as artists and to show off our latest creations. Our 14th annual Open Juried Show is on display through Oct. 30 at Harbor History Museum. Seattle-based artist Teresa Saia was this year's juror. Ms. Saia's selections for prize winners are shown below. The People's Choice award will be presented Oct. 30. Be sure to vote for your favorite.
Our Fall Members' Show takes place Oct. 24-Nov. 28 at Kimball Gallery. Drop-off is Monday, Oct. 24 -- 4-5 pm. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 28 -- 4-5pm. Sherri Bails will jury the show and awards reception will be held Sunday, Oct, 20 from 4-5:30pm. Download an entry form from the "Miscellaneous Forms" page.

Screening for PAL Shows -- Participating in art shows is one of the privileges of PAL membership. All screened members are encouraged to show their work in our Members' Shows, Specialty Shows (e.g. Plein Air Show or Net Shed Show) and the TCC shows. Screenings take place three times a year -- February, May and September -- immediately prior to the general meeting.
